How is that you can spend your entire life with someone; working together, playing together, laughing together, crying together, praying together, preaching together, and then when they pass away… You are profoundly impacted by a revelation of some new found depth of love you had for the person? Instantly realizing that all those moments you shared are now finalized as the sum of that relationship. It is absolutely incredible to me! I guess in large part because of the reflection it prompts in me to recognize this incredible gift… That our capacity to love as mankind is truly abundant, and is only subject to the limits dictated by the giver & receiver of said love. We define the limits of the love we both give and receive. The boundaries to which were comfortable loving, the conditions on which we will love, or in some cases, tragically, the expiration date of our love. To know that we are capable of this love, humbles me. Why? Because as great of a capacity as we have to love, God’s love for mankind is beyond comparison, and truly no greater love story could be told. Share your gratitude for the love you are both able to give, and able to receive today. Im unspeakably grateful today for my Grandfather. To know him, to love him, and to be loved by him.
