I feel we all need to be more attentive to our elders. We need to realize the special important things in their lives that made us what we are today. They worked hard, they were always at work, and at work on time ..even if it was out in the hot hot sun working in the field, or factory etc., they worked, and worked hard. They were rewarded with rewards that have gone unnoticed...years of loyality, dedication, their sleepless nights..they could go borrow money on their word..they bought what was called war bonds back in the day, to help our men at war, these bonds would increase in value, value to them a dime or penny a day, but it was value knowing they helped them at war..they respected our American flag, keeping it above ground, and flying high. They baked and cooked for the family of a sick or dying loved one..they visited the widows..they prayed, they prayed where you could hear their prayers, they read their bible, and kept the births,deaths, marriages, any dates they may one day forget, but they would never forget their bible, where it was..that is why they kept those kinds of records there...they now have aged, and love to talk about these days. All we need to do is take the time and listen. To me, this is history not mentioned in books..yes they may repeat over and over, but let them...and act as if it is your first time listening to them..they love to talk about The Lord, lets listen..for a lot of what they tell us, will come to pass. Lets all love our elders, give them the love and attention they deserve...let them grow old with grace and love..for if we live we will be there one day too..that is a promise...My heartfelt thought of the day..
