I have been keeping a journal for a number of years now. From - TopicsExpress

I have been keeping a journal for a number of years now. From time to time, I enjoy flipping through my writing from the past, reviewing my reflections and deepest thoughts. It is like opening a time capsule that not only helps me understand where I was coming from but also helps me to more clearly understand things about my journey. It can be an amazing encouragement as I move into the next phase of my life. When I picked up one of my journals this afternoon, a folded, handwritten letter fell out, demanding my attention. Having just written about “synchronicity,” I felt that perhaps it contained something that I needed to hear today. As it turned out, it was a love letter that I had written to myself more than 10 years ago, in response to the abandonment I felt after a painful break-up with an ex-partner. The letter explored my desire to remain open to the pain and served as a reminder that my worth was not dependent on anyone else, particularly the person with whom I had been involved. I also wrote about all of the reasons why I was worthy of being loved…worthy of my own love. What a gift, from me, to me… For a fleeting moment, I fought against the inclination to discredit what was written because I was both the author and subject. I wondered aloud whether the letter would have had more of an impact if it had been written by someone else. However, the reality is that nice things that another expresses about me might serve to stroke my ego, but it is the love I profess for myself that is most important. It is the prayer energy that I transmit to the universe…. serving to attract the best this world has to offer…. helping me to create a life most wonderful. Take some time today to write yourself a love letter. Although it might feel a bit awkward at first, once you open the channel to your love, magical things will happen. Remember that what you are expressing is, in essence, the energy you transmit to the world. If you don’t want to write a letter, develop a list of all of the things that you love about yourself…. your accomplishments, your passions, your contributions to people in your sphere of influence, etc. Committing it to paper helps you to focus and magnify your love. And above all else, remember that you are worthy of your own love. And so it is.
