I really like this interview of Jeff Berwick, as he describes his transition to anarchism, and how once you get there, you never go back, because you cant erase knowledge once its in your brain. I have people in my life who ask me why I cant just ignore everything and be happy (what I equate to sticking my head in the sand like everyone else) and they just dont understand because they dont see how much negative impact the state has on absolutely everything in our lives, how it causes so many problems and so much crime and violence and costs us so much to maintain, and how totally unnecessary it is today—and I see it every day. Yes, its difficult, but the only thing you can really do about it is try to educate others until enough people get it that we can finally evolve humanity to a free, voluntary, stateless society. Jeff feels the same way: Other than those moments where you just kind of—you look at people and theyre just like happy on the beach all day and they dont know anything about the world, theyre just happy—you look at them sometimes and go I wish I could be like that, but you cant really go back—unless I wanna do some sort of lobotomy or something, you know, like, you cant get this information out once its in, and once you know this information, its really hard to ignore it, because you see every little problem around you, you see the cause, and no one else does, and you just want to try to help so much.
