I would like to take this opportunity to say that today I sat my 1st year PhD Proposal Presentation. I passed! Thank the gods! I got comments about my research making significant contribution to my field and that I am very well versed in knowing the literature for my topic and planning in general. Ka ki atu au ehara ahau i te toa takitahi, he toa takitini hoki! I would like to say thank you to all of those who have supported me in this journey, In particular my parents. I know I dont say it enough but I am honoured and truly grateful that you believe in what I do and support me. My flatmates and fellow department PhDers who showed up to just be there. Means a lot. To my mentors/supervisors I love our relationship and the unconditional understanding you give me. Lastly, to those iwi organisations that did not support me - I say I understand - and by doing so you make me a stronger person and a more creative researcher.
