If you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are - TopicsExpress

If you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are happy.—1 Pet. 3:14. To cope with trials successfully, we need faith and courage. What is faith? The apostle Paul wrote: “Faith is the title-deed to the things we hope for. Faith is being sure of things we cannot see.” (Heb. 11:1, The Simple English Bible) If property has been deeded to us, we are confident that we own it. Since we have faith that God always fulfills his word, it is as though we are holding a valuable deed. Our faith makes us certain that we will see the fulfillment of the Bible-based promises we hope for, and we are sure about spiritual realities, although we cannot see them. Courage has been defined as “spiritual, emotional, and moral fortitude to speak and act without fear in the face of obstacles and dangers.” (The New Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible) If we have courage, we are strong, valiant, even bold at times.—Mark 6:49, 50; 2 Tim. 1:7.
