If you were kept in a place with cameras all around you, how would you act? Would you act natural? Would you do things that you would normally do when there is no one watching? Surely you would be extremely conscious with your actions, with your words and with your deeds. This should be our state at all times. We might not be surrounded by cameras, but we are being watched. We are being watched by ALLAH, the One who never forgets. The difference is that being watched by ALLAH is much more dangerous, because not only does He see your outer actions, He also sees what is inside your heart your intentions. Why then do we act as if He sees nothing? We pretend as if we are completely alone and we can so whatever we want. We commit sins as if He is not even there. And in His mercy, SUBHANALLAH, He forgives us as if He didnt even see us sin. He sees us disobey Him over and over again. He sees us go astray after being guided by Him over and over again. But in His eternal love for us, He forgives us when we repent. Thats all we really have to do. We were created weak, we will commit sins no matter how hard we try. We were not created perfect. But ALLAH gave us that solution repentance. Just turn back to Him, He will forgive as if He saw nothing, SUBHANALLAH. May ALLAH make us of those who are constantly repentant and conscious of Him.
