In the midst of celebrating New Years with Robert and the rest of the 4th grade, a lockdown was called (drill). Seeing these children hiding under tables quiet as can be, the innocent looks on their faces, as I imagined the worst possible scenario that could potentially take place in this day and age, brought tears to my eyes. So for today I am thankful for all the staff at Riley School that look after the safety of our children in our absence. I am amazed at the level of safety, precaution and security that takes place and I feel comfort as he walks into that school every day...
