Indier works with International Schools to provide high quality educational programs that focus on outdoor adventure, community service, environmental education and leadership. Programs are led in urban, rural and wilderness settings in provinces throughout China. For more information about Indier, please refer to theindier 2. Job Description Program Leader - Adventure oriented; Service learning; Field study oriented; Course Development Program Leaders work with Chinese logistic staffs to plan, coordinate and lead 2-7 day programs for English based international students age ranging from 11 to 18. The programs contain elements of teambuilding activities, hiking, camping, sea and river kayaking, and experiential education service learning projects. As a Program Leader you will have the opportunity to be a Program Coordinator for specific programs. This will offer you a chance to step into a leadership role and additional remuneration is granted. Responsibilities Provide safe, professional and quality delivery of outdoor adventure activities to clients Assist in training for Chinese staff Instruct outdoor adventure activities and service learning projects Instruct various teambuilding activities Work closely with the Chinese logistic team to ensure adequate provision for each activity Maintain and prepare the program equipment Keep accurate records and inventories of equipment Keep detailed and accurate trip logs, site visit forms and report to the program Director Assist office work when not in the field, including program debriefs, improve program quality and content Assist in program development 3. Qualifications Required: Minimum 21 years old. Extensive experience working with youth ages 11-18 years old Experience leading large groups Strong technical outdoor skills First Aid certified Preferred: Current Lifeguard Certification Certifications and specialized advanced skills in rock climbing, rope systems, sea kayaking, swift water rescue or other Experience in and or at least respect and affinity for multi-cultural settings Teambuilding activity experience and or Ropes course facilitation experience BA in Recreation Wilderness Advance First Aid certified. Current Wilderness First Responder and CPR or higher is preferred 4. Remuneration Monthly pay up to $800 but depending on experience FREE furnished staff dormitory with AC and laundry Food and lodging while on programs Flight allowance up to $850 to be paid upon completion of contract China Visa reimbursement up to $200 to be paid upon the completion of contact 5.
