Info regarding Relay For Life: The Relay for Life event will be held on Saturday the 9th November starting at 3pm at the Bribie Island AFL field. The event will run all night until 9am Sunday morning. Bootcamp Bribie have 3 teams registered, Spartans, Vikings and Phantoms! I will be putting the list up of who is in which team over the next few days so stay tuned on instructions how to register to join this team,soon. When registering online it will be $20 to join your designated team which requires a credit card. This fee is considered a donation and goes straight to the Cancer Council for research. The idea of the event is that from the starting time there will be a member of each team on the track walking/running/dancing etc the entire time, and then swapping over whenever needed with the next team member in true relay format. The rules however, are not strict and it wont be a big deal if you have more than one person on the track at one time, a team environment is always welcome and will make more fun! Throughout the night there will be food vendors set up, bbqs and entertainment to keep people motivated. The event is open to all ages so feel free to bring kids, a tent, deck chairs and make yourself at home! Even though the event runs all night it is not expected that everyone who registers stays the entire time, as it is relay you can opt to do however long you want and can then leave and another member can take over.
