It is apprehended that our dear motherland is rapidly going to lose completely her all kinds of freedom. To speak the very truth, now our country is independent only geographically , but in respect of ideology-- educational, cultural, economic, social and political-- Bangladesh is not free. She entirely depends on other countries for all kinds of development work. Most painful that she cannot even adopt any policy indepenently. In all the fields and sectors now she has to stand undue interference of different states and organizations. For this the selfish political leaders in the country and the turbulent politics prevailing here are responsible. Excepting very few, our leaders are not politicians and true patriots. They are greedy and too busy making money and satisfying their mean interest. They should, despite different political ideologies and philosophies, come closer to one another and get united on development issues and as regards the questions of the liberty and sovereignty of the country. But we are quite unforunate as to this. The leaders and even the civil society cannot rise above the narrow confines of their mean individual and political interest.
