I’m not sure I understand this reviewer’s presumption that e.e.cummings’ star has fallen and that he is little read. Is this some kind of consensus in the critical establishment, some sort of understanding among academicians? Or is this the press reporting its own presumptions as givens? In fact, I think the metaphor itself is bogus. A fallen star? It reeks of Wall Street and the mentality of commerce.
