Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth - TopicsExpress

Luke 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Jesus was not persecuted while he remained at the carpenter shop at Nazerath. But the moment he started doing mighty things, he was called the "prince of devils" and there were many attempts to destroy his life. The powerless religious leaders of his day feared his mighty power, and the persecution continued until he was crucified. Peter was a "good fellow" as long as he was a plain ole fisherman, but when he healed the lame man, they threw him in jail. As long as Stephen was just a "member" in the first church at jerusalem, he got along just fine. But the moment he done great wonders and miracles among the people, he was called into judgment and stoned. Paul never had to flee for his life because of his religion, until he met God in a supernatural way. Again and again, Jesus pointed out to his disciples the price of following in his steps, recommending that they count the cost. POWER/N/PRAYER
