Melissa Shawns rescue. This is a no kill rescue that is off the beaten path, many adoptable pet are kept there until they can find that good home. some are sponsored which means that someone has been kind enough to front the fees to have the animal brought up to date on shots and wormed and if necessary to have it spayed or neutered. This is funded by her and her husband and private donations. Many dogs are from this area, abandoned without homes or anywhere to go. Over 40 dogs are housed in well spaced pens along with a host of family farm animals of turkeys, horses, geese to name a few. 100 lbs of dog food will feed these furbabies for less than a week. This is a work of love and caring between Melissa Shawn and a few fellow furbaby caretakers. My hat is off to her and her hard work.
