Moment for Meditation, September 1, 2014 The Struggle is Over The other day I was watching an adorable little tyke trying to crawl. He got up on his hands and knees; he smiled at the onlookers; he set his eyes on his prize (a pile of toys on the other side of his play blanket); he lifted his hand and put it forward; and, as has happened to each of us, his diapered butt veered to the right and he followed suit. Encouraged by the oohs and awwws, he tried again. This time, he crawled about a foot when his Mom, overjoyed, screamed, Oh my God! Look at my baby! Confused by her scream, he started to cry and sat down. His Grandmother picked him up, gave him a big kiss and hug then, sat him down to finish his work... He got up on his hands and knees; he smiled at the onlookers; he set his eyes on his prize; he lifted his hand and put it forward. This time, he was ready for his diapered butt veering. He crawled, he made it to his toys and then, with the biggest smile on his face, he toppled over to the right once again. This time, he was ready for his Moms screams of joy and excitement. He was also ready for the outbursts of his onlookers and the camera flashes that were going off to record his milestone. Perhaps we should be more attentive to our duties as onlookers in the lives of those who labor among us. There are times in all of our lives when we must crawl through something. Just because we have learned how to walk, doesnt mean we will or can walk through everything. When we are faced with the difficult times, there are people who can praise; love; and even scream us through. In times like these, we need to seek them out. In times like these, we need to answer the call of the seeker; look for those who are seeking as well. Encouraging ourselves is a wonderful feat to accomplish for sure, but God did not put us here alone. He did not tell us we dont need each other; nor did He lead us to believe that because the current struggle is not ours that we should not have any part in it. There is a prize in every struggle. There is comfort and assurance for every step through a struggle. For this little guy, the struggle of moving without having to wait on someone else is over for now and all of us onlookers knew that struggle. We know most of the struggles that will come into his life as well. We know that our struggles were and are being overcome by the power intercession for us. There is joy in being there for someone else on both sides of There. Today, dont deny the existence of your struggle and dont deny your ability to assist in the struggle. Boundless Blessings
