Juniors will be taking a PRACTICE NeSA Writing test today starting 6th period and will likely run into 7th period. The OFFICIAL NeSA test will be on Thursday. 8th graders will start 3rd period and probably run into 4th period. The 11th grade will start 6th period and will run into 7th period. On Wednesday at 3:20 the Chamber Renaissance Committee will be here to serve ice cream treats to those of you who were on the Honor Roll for 2nd quarter; those who had perfect attendance for the 1st semester; or if you raised your GPA from 1st quarter to 2nd quarter at least 1 percentage point. Please check the list posted in the Commons Area to see if you are invited. Ask Donna in the office if you have any questions about this. The UNK scholarship deadline is February 1. All students applying to UNK must have both (1) applied for admission, and (2) submitted all application materials, including the high school transcript, senior class schedule, ACT/SAT scores, and application fee (or waiver), by February 1. Please remember these scholarships require a separate application: Multicultural Community Service Scholarship, the Davis-Chambers, and the Peter Kiewit Educators Opportunity Scholarship. Juniors, UNKs upcoming Loper Preview Day is Monday, February 2nd. The deadline to sign up is January 29th (or earlier - space is limited and filling up quickly!). High school juniors can register online at visit.unk.edu/. Loper Preview Day runs from 8:45 AM to 11:15 AM, with the option to dine on campus in the Nebraskan Student Union at 11:30 AM (lunch ticket - $7 per person). Upcoming activities/events: - - Tonight - Legion Baseball meeting at 7:00 at the Legion Club. Please bring your parents to the meeting if they are available. - - Tomorrow - GIRLS Basketball games with Doniphan-Trumbull at Loup City. JV start at 5:45, Varsity will play at approximately 7:15. - - Thursday - Jr. High Boys Basketball at 4:00 at Burwell. - - Friday - Wrestling at 1:00 at Central Valley, (Greeley). Members need dismissed at 9:20. Basketball games with Burwell at Loup City. JV Boys and Girls play at 4:30. Varsity Girls will play at 6:00, Varsity Boys will play at approximately 7:45. - - Saturday - CNFL #2 Speech at Grand Island.
