My Scripture readings for today: Jeremiah 17: 5-10 * Psalm 1: 1-6 * Luke 16: 19-31 Todays readings definitely are a wake up call for all of us. Dont wait until its too late. Is our trust and hope in the Lord, or in human beings? When the heat and stress of life comes our way are we planted firmly in the Lord, so we can still bear fruit? When we see those in need right outside our doors do we take the time to be compassionate and help them? Like Abraham told the rich man, if we spend our lifetime ignoring those in need, those who are right outside our doors, who weve probably passed by day after day, are fate is sealed. It is our job to share our faith with our brothers, and share the gospel with them by our words and actions. And if they still do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if one should rise from the dead. Todays Psalm says it all, Happy the man who follows not the counsel of the wicked nor walks in the way of sinners, nor sits in the company of the insolent, but delights in the law of the Lord and meditates on his law day and night. He is like a tree planted near running water, that yields its fruit in due season, and whose leaves never fade. (Whatever he does, prospers). Not so the wicked, not so; they are like chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore in judgement the wicked shall not stand, nor shall sinners, in the assembly of the just. For the Lord watches over the way of the just, but the way of the wicked vanishes. What is your way of life? Have you read any good books lately? Have a great day! Blessings.
