My mom knows I always wanted to do hijab modeling, but honestly Ive had a change of heart after seeing their criteria is the same as the nonMuslims who expect the models to be tall as a tower, slim till they disappear kinda thing. I would of thought that Muslim women wouldnt want us to be oppressed in that way...i mean why else are we wearing the hijab and keep fighting for our right to wear it? So we stay away from feeling insecure that we arent skinny/tall enough because Islam says you are beautiful just the way you are. Its basically doing the same thing as the west do with their models except they just wear the hijab. Not cool. I wish girls who were short or not skinny had the chance. I believe hijab is beautiful on every woman no matter what size/shape, and I dont think we need people from our own religion to make many Muslim women feel like they arent beautiful enough to promote modesty. Am I wrong for thinking this? (Btw this isnt about whether taking a picture/modeling is halal/haram, I just wanna focus on hijabis itself being able to do what they want no matter how they look). -Mo
