Be Northern. northern.edu Northern State University invites applications for the following positions: Secretary/Financial Clerk Northern State University’s Foundation office is seeking applicants to assist the Accountant in the maintenance of the financial and constituent information systems of the university’s development and alumni operations, and to provide clerical support for the NSU Foundation office and its auxiliary services. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED, and two years of clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities: Responsible for day-to-day operations of the office, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, preparing correspondence, responding to inquiries, and supervision of student workers. Under the direction of the accountant, will also perform paraprofessional accounting duties including preparation of basic expenditure records, recording and transmitting cash receipts, preparing supporting schedules and reports, general bookkeeping duties to assist the Accountant in the compilation of accurate financial statements, and process and monitor income and expenditures for all departmental accounts. Director of Institutional Research & Assessment Responsibilities: The Director of Institutional Research and Assessment is responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data collected in support of the university’s operations, strategic planning, and compliance with reporting requirements for accreditation and other external and state agencies. The director is also responsible for providing guidance and oversight in assessing university, department, and program learning outcomes and using the results of assessment to enhance curriculum and instruction. Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess: (1) a master’s degree from an accredited institution, doctorate in a research field preferred; (2) at least three years of experience in institutional research and/or assessment; (3) knowledge of and experience with administering institutional-wide assessment and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards; (4) the ability to organize and manage multiple complex functions with varying deadlines and constituents; (5) detailed knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and predictive analytics; (6) proven ability to utilize various statistical packages, data warehouse reporting tools, and predictive modeling software; (7) excellent written and oral communication skills; and (8) ability to collaborate with campus departments, including the administrative systems team in securing institutional data.
