Not all duties were a pleasure, even to a true railway enthusiast. - TopicsExpress

Not all duties were a pleasure, even to a true railway enthusiast. On May 24th, 1983, I was rostered to secondman Guide Bridge driver Colin Lister on 25326. Our job for the day was to assist in lifting track between Godley Junction and Apethorne Junction (Woodley). On the same day, Guide Bridge driver Dave Woodall could be seen with his head poking out of 08524 at Guide Bridge (Cabin Side). Sad times. At this point we had the laughable situation where the unions refused to co-operate in lifting track over Woodhead, but were perfectly content to see us carving up a route that was an integral part of Woodhead! Some pictures repeated from previous posts simply to post the set complete now. Previously I was looking through a box of old snaps, but these are negative scans, which obviously allows easier completeness.
