Nothing wrong with weird either....I proudly wear my weirdness - TopicsExpress

Nothing wrong with weird either....I proudly wear my weirdness every day but I have learned that if I had to live my life according to the way Makensi thinks or conform to the way her brain works, it would be so difficult. Therefore, I try to be patient when wanting her to confirm or think MY way!! It all goes back to an old saying about walking a mile in someone elses shoes. Most autistic children are forced to wear shoes that dont fit for a lifetime. Be Mak! Is What I tell her all the time but sometimes I need to remember who she is too! Like when it is time to get dressed or organize her room! I cannot imagine living every day according to rules or norms that my brain couldnt comprehend. This month, I am challenging myself to live and let Mak live in her world, her way. One month? Surely I can do it and maybe learn to be more patient with her for having to do it every day! !
