On a somber note, we would like to express our sincere condolences to the friends and family of Lt. Col. Fontenot Jr., who tragically lost his life while piloting one of our 104th ANG Fighter Wing planes a few days ago. WYF will be commemorating this mans commitment and sacrifice to our country with decals that will be affixed to all of our players helmets, as well as our WHS Bombers helmets. This will be a joint venture between both programs to honor this fallen military member from within our community. WYF has asked that Barnes ANG have their Military personnel and Pilots on hand for this event, to place these decals on all of our players helmets on behalf of the Fontenot family and friends. We will honor this mans memory for the 2014 season. The date and time will be posted shortly, and would appreciate all and any support regarding this event. We want the players to understand why we are doing this, and parents/ coaches should explain the importance and significance of honoring one of our fallen military personnel. Once we have a date we will notify all. Thanks to Barnes ANG and WHS Football coach Fernandez for embracing our desire to honor this fallen USA Military member. This is a very sad time for our community, but we will do our best to honor his name and legacy through Westfield Bomber Football, both Youth and WHS Football.
