On my first Relief Run in 2011 to Joplin, MO I met 3 amazing women - TopicsExpress

On my first Relief Run in 2011 to Joplin, MO I met 3 amazing women that became their own animal rescue force. They each lived in different states but would meet in Joplin and go into the surrounding woods together, set up a little fire, and cook bacon because the smell would attract hungry animals, and they would catch them and try to reunite them with their families. Michelle(illinois) is the one that introduced me to relief work, Lisa(kansas) would always just travel there to help, and Kari(missouri) had her beloved dog ripped from her arms during the Joplin tornado and they are still searching for her. Kari formed a non-profit called BRING HANNAH HOME, and all 3 women continue to care for animals affected and displaced by disasters through BHH. These are the women that I am inspired by and try to learn from. Bring Hannah Home is also doing a relief run to OK, leaving MO tomorrow, and they were our Missouri drop off location. So, when they saw that we needed a second trailer, and knowing how much we are trying to get pet supplies to the animals of OK, BRING HANNAH HOME DONATED THE ENTIRE COST OF OUR SECOND UHAUL TRAILER!! ;-) ;-) ;-) Another amazing member of the BHH family, Heather-whom I have never even met but continues to do soooo much behind the scenes work for this run and past runs- set everything up with uhaul for me so I just have to go in and pick the trailer up. Between helping us with a drop off, doing hours of organizing and phone/message detail, and their awesome donations, I can not thank BHH enough. For all they have done and continue to do, not only for this run, but for the people and animals effected by natural disasters, I feel truly fortunate to know these people and to have worked beside them. In fact, this run and every minute I have ever spent on relief work is truly a product of these women and BHH because they are the ones that inspired me and let me learn from just watching them. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your help, and for just being the selfless amazing women that you are. XOXO
