Our Father who art in Heaven, Thank you for protecting my son. For your loving watch care over him, As his journey in the service has begun. For we see in Psalm 91 You promise, You are our fortress, Your wings cover and keep us secure. We need not worry of danger at night or arrows by day, You will protect us in whatever we endure. Then in Psalm 41 You promise again, Your protection against any foe. We will not be harmed, safe from our enemies, And our strength restored wherever we go. Then in Jeremiah 29 You tell us, That Your plan for our future is bright. You will answer our prayers if we ask You, You will listen all day and all night. Next in James 1 we are told To have faith and never to doubt. If we don’t believe, we’ll get nothing, Trusting God is what faith is about. So you see Dear Lord, I trust you, I have faith and believe with all my heart. For my son is a gift You have given me, He’s been Yours, not mine from the start. Your promise is clear to me Jesus, I love you and trust who You are. Although my son is away for now, From You he is never very far. I know I will call on you often, You may hear me 100 times each day. But in 1 John 3 You promise, Ask and we will receive if we follow Your way. So I’m asking Lord for protection, For my son that truly isn’t mine. Your plan for his future is in Your hands, I have faith in You God, all Divine.
