POSE OF THE DAY - POSTURE 7 Balancing Stick (Tuladandasana) Purpose and Benefits: - Strengthens the heart muscle - Helps posture - Strengthens powers of concentration Performing the Pose: - Stand with your feet together - Stretch your arms up overhead and interlock fingers, index fingers pointing up, arms are back behind your ears - Stretch your upper body up and back, chest puffs up - Take a big step forward with your right leg, come up on the toe of the back foot, look forward - Pivot directly forward on your hip joint while raising your left leg up behind you (your whole body is one solid piece from your fingertips to your toes) - Your abdomen should be parallel to the floor with your arms extended out and your leg extended back in one straight line - Both legs are locked solid - Aim for a T shape and hold for 10 seconds - Step back to center and repeat on the other side Demonstration: https://youtube/watch?v=7ueLT91fS3U
