Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a convenience store at Mt Druitt. About 12.40am today (Friday 23 May 2014), a man entered the store at Dawson Mall, armed with a broken glass bottle. He threatened the male employee and demanded cash. A male customer pushed the man outside, where the offender struck the man with the bottle causing cuts to his wrist. The man fled the scene. The customer was treated by paramedics at the scene. Police from Mount Druitt Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by forensic specialists. The man has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 20 – 28 years of age, 175cm tall with a thin build. He was wearing a white hooded jumper, blue jeans and white shoes.
