REF: 50,000 People demonstrate against Austerity outside BBC headquarters 21st June 2014 In an official response to Calum Carlyle The BBC have stated that they did cover the Austerity march but it was overshadowed by bigger news stories, To quote “We covered this demonstration on the BBC News Channel with five reports throughout Saturday evening, on the BBC News website on Sunday, Below is the Fair and Balanced View of the BBC Posted on their website on Sunday, 50,000 becomes thousands, not a single sentence of a speaker is heard and some random crowd shots that give no indication of the level of support. The BBC yet again demonstrates to its political masters how much it enjoys being the Ministry of Truth. As Tom Pride the blogging satirist put it, It seems the BBC are capable of tracking down a single Scot in Brazil who cheered a goal against England but fail to notice 50,000 demonstrating on their doorstep. Job well done then!
