Rethinking Christianity: Understanding the cosmic impact of Christ - TopicsExpress

Rethinking Christianity: Understanding the cosmic impact of Christ opens our eyes to see the redemption and beauty in all things. IN Christ even our understanding of time is redeemed. Time is no longer moving against us, but is moving in favor for us. Often our thoughts of time are filled with regret and fear. We regret the past and fear the future. We are constantly trying to catch-up to time because we are late or trying to slow down time because we don’t want to miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity. Jesus came to reveal that time has always been on our side. It is important for us to understand that eternity is not defined by the absence of time, but in the fullness of time. Eternity is not a word to emphasize what begins when we die, but a language to express the enormity of our experiences in life. When we see how Christ has redeemed time (Christ is the fullness of time) we begin to see time in its moments and not its limits. Time is no longer seen in its limits of duration and brevity. Time is now seen in its moments of eternity. No longer do we dread death as the moment when our breath is taken away. We eagerly anticipate the moments of life that truly take our breath away- to be in awe, breathless, and aware of beauty that transcends time and limits. The gospel reveals Christ as the fullness of time. The one who takes our breath away, “If one died for all then all have died with him”, to awe/inspire us with renewed breath and life. Time is complete in him as the one who holds all things together- Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. The time of salvation and jubilee is in the NOW moment as eternity is packaged in the present. There is no need to regret the past or hope for a future time. Your worth, salvation, and inclusion in Christ is a now and forevermore!
