Dear Friend, To celebrate our 4th Annual Central – Stevens Alumni Game, we are asking your consideration in supporting us with a donation. High school soccer in Rapid City began in the fall of 1997. The first state high school tournament was held in Pierre in the fall of 1998. Players who graduated in 2000 played the first three years (1997, 1998, 1999). High School soccer programs are not sanctioned by the South Dakota High School Activities Association. They are overseen by the South Dakota Soccer Association, which has made the decision to oversee the soccer programs and support them through the High School State Soccer Tournament in 2014. Programs are diligently looking for ways to raise funds and continue the programs through the schools or self-sufficiently by hosting events. In hopes to have previous players give back to the programs they grew up in and pave the way for future generations, two Central parents, Lorre Buhler and Toni Sabrowski gave birth to the Central – Stevens Alumni Game, which will be hosting its 4th annual game this summer (2010 – 2013) July 12, 2013 at Sioux Park Stadium. The women will play at 6:00 pm and the men at 8:00 pm. . This fundraiser benefits both girls and boys Central and Stevens Soccer Programs. The game has grown relations within the community with businesses donating items or contributing toward the expenses that come with hosting such an event. The relations with the community are very strong and it helps to allow the players to come back and represent their schools by stepping back onto the pitch against their hometown rivals in a fun charitable event.
