Some weeks back, I was reading in the Final Call newspaper about Minister Farrakhan speaking about Black Americans manufacturing bricks. I had also referenced some speeches where I recall him mentioning brick manufacturing. He has been talking about this since the 80s. He said that we could make bricks and that it would be easy for us to do. He was suggesting that this task would develop our economic base as a people by becoming entrepreneurial and manufacture our own products and will lead to our freedom. The only thing with that is, that there is no current demand among Black Americans for Black owned, Black manufactured bricks. This idea sounds good, but it is more social than it is economical and that is where the problem lay. Black people are social beings. Our success does not exist in the same realm of entrepreneur and investing, trade and competitive industry. That type of system is designed for the same people who designed the dollar bill. It was and is only mean to travel one way, with the integral aspect of poverty at the tail end. Manufacturing bricks for Uganda would be a great business for our own to get into because it causes a producer to answer a DEMAND and thereby creating employment and revenue, however dependent on the same dollar that is the cause of our once-poverty. The key word here is DEMAND. Once a demand is introduced, a producer is created, and so-called wealth is created according to societys modern day economics.
