Staying home tonight and getting ready for a wonderful start to a brand New Year!!! Woo hoo!! So far Ive made a yummy rub for a pork roast that is marinating overnight... and have in the oven right now, my first batch of homemade, made from scratch cornbread!! Oh yea... all things new baby!! ;) Im so excited to make a New Years Dinner and share it with and open door to our home tomorrow!! Its truly a desire of my heart!! Now let me tell you just how good my God is... and how deeply He loves and cares for every little detail of my life... and yours of course!!!!....... You see, earlier this evening as I was doing some running around in preparation for something my heart really desires to do tomorrow.... knowing full well the amount of money I have in my account to do everything I need to do... off the kids and I go to get everything we need!! Finally we make it to Kroger, our last stop for the day, and man is that place packed!! I fill up my cart with all that I need and joyfully proceed to the check out. The place was a mad house and patience seemed to be a bit thin for many inside, so I hurry along in hopes to get out quickly. As I load my things up, I begin to make small talk as usual with the cashier and the line begins to file as I wait. Finally she totals me up and I quickly slide my card, smiling and talking as usual. All of a sudden Im standing there and to my surprise, out of nowhere, these two ugly words appear on the screen......unauthorized transaction! What?!?! OMGOSH!! What?!?!?! NO!!!!!!! Omgosh, What is wrong?!?!? Suddenly I look behind me and the line now looks to be miles and miles long!!!! OMGOSH, What am I suppose to do now? Quickly I grab my phone and tab around to check the bank, frantically apologizing over and over to the person behind me, As my statement appears, I am stunned to find out that Darrell and I had both been spending money, and what I thought I had was not what was there any longer!! OMGosh... I am frozen and to be honest... soooo soooo embarrassed!!! Quickly I began looking through my bags at things I needed to give back and possibly do without. As I pulled things out and gave them back, the cashier was trying to make the adjustments I needed. But I kept having to give things back. As the cashier was in the middle of weighing and adjusting my grapes.... a friend, co-worker and sister in Christ walks up in front of us and hugs me and wishes me a belated happy birthday. Oh yay...now? I thought....though I was happy to see her...now of all times!! Ugh!! So quickly I hugged her, thanked her and pleasantly tried to move her along so that she wouldnt know the dilemma I was presently in. You see pride will do that to you......and sweetly... on her way she went. As the line behind me seemed to get longer and longer and longer... the people seemed to get a bit aggravated with me and looked to be making faces at me. Shamefully I asked the cashier to please just cancel the whole transaction for me and I would be on my way. She was very sweet and agreed to do so, but needed the assistance of a manager. As the manager came over and began the cancellation...suddenly from behind me came this sweet voice that whispered, No stop... I would like to take care of what she needs, please! ............................................................................................................................................................................................................... uhh... ohhh... Silence.... tears....a little resistance... tears.... embarrassment...tears... pride.... gratitude...... all wrapped up in one began to fill up in me. Though I wanted to resist her help (out of pride of course)... Ive been a child of God long enough to know that you dont mess with someones blessing!! So humbly I accepted her help, and out the door the kids and I went, with all the things we needed....and even some things we wanted.
