THANK YOU 3000 TIMES On behalf of the 310k organising committee 2014 I would like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate everyone that took part in our recent 310k Relay event at Bessbrook Community Centre. We would like to acknowledge the fantastic support from individuals and teams that ran on behalf of Running Clubs, Sports Clubs, Public Services and Local Business in particular: Paul Coulters Pink Ladies, Club Pulse, Newry Tri Club, Newry City Runners, Saval GAA Club, Murlough AC, First Derivatives.NI Fire Service Ultra Runners, North East Runners, and Lurgan Wig Nuts and all thodse individuals young and old that participated in the event. I would like to offer our sincere thanks to Mayor Michael Ruanne for his support and kind contribution. Newry and Mourne District Council for their logistical and technical support throughout the event, in particular we would like to thank Paddy Duffy for facilitating the event and his colleagues Eddie Curtis, Paddy Mc Phillips, Sean Judge, Rosie Garey and Noel Pepper who generously gave their time throughout the event. The success of any event comes down to having a good team on the ground, The 310K committee is indebted to the hard work of Jacqueline Galway, Catherine Murphy, Susan Mc Cague, Anne Marie Cassidy, Milo Mc Court, Gerry Patton, Barry Duffy, John Stokes, Gary Stokes, Des Mc Mahon, David Mc Court, Bernard Hamill, Caroline Wade, Brenda, Niall, Mark Mc Ateer, Michael Englishby , Frankie Rea, John Mc Sherry and the Gateway Volunteers Rea who carried out a wide range of tasks from registration to marshalling whilst still making time to run in the event. Refreshments for the event were kindly donated by Millbrook Café, Bessbrook, Grounded Newry, Courtney’s Restaurant Newry and the Shelburne Restaurant Newry Medical support: Doctor Declan Keenan and Doctor Louise Mc Corry Technical support: Extreme 26, Barry Duffy, Dermot Winters, Des Mc Mahon Gerry Patton, Brendan Durkan and O Hanlon & Farrell Electrical We would like to offer out thanks to the PSNI for all their support during the planning stages and throughout the duration of the event. Our thanks are also extended to the greater Bessbrook community for your support. As with all organised events remembering everything that people did for us on the day /night is difficult but what we do know is that without your support, donations and random acts of kindness it would have been impossible to run such an event or raise so much needed funds for this local charity. I apologise wholeheartedly if I have missed anyone out but please be assured we are indebted to everyone for their support and are very proud to be able to donate to Newry Gateway Club Minibus Appeal on your behalf, the magnificent sum of £3000.00. Last but not least the organising committee Sean Goodman, Siobhan McAteer, Connor Sweeney, Noel Pepper Louise and Declan Keenan Colm Fearon and Paddy Duffy who kindly volunteered to help out with the 310k back in November 2013, your hard work, innovation and support helped make this year’s event a resounding success.
