The Last Joy During the wedding celebration at Cana in John 2, they ran out of wine. When all the celebrations of this world run out; the party ends. They start out full of life and dwindle. Even the waiter at the Cana wedding said the best was served at the beginning. The wine is the symbol of joy. The real joy of the Lord never ends. The world seems exciting and new at first, but then it gets old. The Lord comes to the party and He turns the water into wine. The joy of the Lord is different. The best comes at the end. You might let your walk get old or let things take a natural course and lose the joy of it. But the joy of the Lord never gets old. Like the celebration that ran out of wine, He brings new joy. Stop seeking the joy of the world. Get some new wine, some real joy, His joy. Give your heart to His joy. He will renew your joy; give you new wine, the abundance of which will never run dry. Come back to Him and He will fill you up. Todays Mission: Focus today on really getting into the joy of the Lord -- Rejoice in the Lord always! Nehemiah 8:10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength. He continued, “Go home and prepare a feast, holiday food and drink; and share it with those who don’t have anything: This day is holy to God. Don’t feel bad. The joy of God is your strength!” Be the happiness Don’t waste your time seeking to find happiness. Instead, be the happiness. Happiness does not come from anything outside of you. Happiness is the way you choose to be. Yes, you can express your happiness in many wonderful ways that go far beyond you. The consequences of your inner happiness bring beauty and great value to your outer world. Yet the happiness itself always comes from within. And you can always choose it, no matter what other things may be going on. Instead of limiting your happiness to just certain situations, let it come alive in any situation. Instead of waiting and hoping for someone or something to bring you happiness, bring it on yourself. Be the happiness you wish to experience. Let it flow freely from your feelings, your thoughts and your actions today, and always. Silence Behind all creation is silence. Silence is the essential condition, the vital ingredient for all creation and all that is created. It is a power in its own right. The artist starts with a blank canvas – silence. The composer places it between and behind the notes. The very ground of your being, out of which come all your thoughts is silence. The way to silence is through meditation.
