The memorial service today for my friend Dave Blois was beautiful, sad and happy at the same time. Many tears were shed, but there was also much laughter as people traded stories or caught up with each other, often after years apart. Once again, Dave brought people together. It was a packed house for Daves final curtain call, with more chairs having to be brought in accommodate all the people who came not only to share in the memory of Dave, but also to hug, kiss, and weep with an incredibly strong, but grieving family. Cancer may have won a physical battle, but in the emotional, and spiritual battles, the sheer love, sadness and joy today collectively kicked cancer to the curb, and then stomped on it for good measure. To Denise , Steven Blois, Matthew Blois, Madison Blois, Lynn, Sharon Baird and Wade Blois, know you are not alone in your loss and know you have a huge extended family to call on. Dave is all around us now. He is not gone. He will never be gone as long as we remember him and cherish how he touched our lives. Love you, man.
