This is one of the most accurate summaries of our education system Ive ever seen. These days, standardized testing scores reign supreme (even above actual education). Im not sure how we can fix it, but I can envision the first step in the right direction. We need to stop focusing on the mere memorization and regurgitation of facts and liven up the learning process (the next step would be to make higher education more affordable). Im reminded of a Sagan quote. It goes something like this: Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge. This is true not just of science, but of education in general. We should teach how to think, not what to think. So FQTQ fans, please give us your thoughts on the subject. Cant seem to find a source for this, so if you know where it came from, please let us know.
