This little guy has had a heck of a rough start. Up to this point only a select few knew the circumstances.. I saw this pup and 5 others. 2 from his litter and 3 from a seperate litter up for grabs on Pueblo sale Barter no rules, you all know where.. I have been trying to contact this person..and she knows, she just doesnt know how much..she is avoiding me totally..he timeline seems to have been cleaned up and she will not answer my messages at all..and no one would have been offended by how i approached her with my messages..she is active with some posts now, but not to me. Theoneandonly Lilbitt Williams Some of you are going to remember, she was offering 1/8 oz of her finest green with purchase of a puppy..I have some messages saved from her back and forth a couple times when she squawks..not if, when..I watched the thread and saw a guy from PW made a purchase..and the very next morning he put the pup back on the page for rehoming..I was on it like ugly on the ape and ran over there and grabbed him. The pup had my heart immediately..and I knew I was bound to be a rescue failure if i didnt act fast. In the days preceding this, I had been in contact with CCHS, PHHS and Pueblo Animal Law Enforcement..with an officer, and an investigator..after i rescued him from PW, I was able to obtain the BYB addy on the eastside, and fed it to Animal LE..go get em..yeah..you bet..they told me how greatly appreciative of the public support and that they would do their best to do this cretin some disservice.. Well, they did nothing..nothing that they can remember..whatever..(as my stomach continues to churn).. So, headed home..I get a phone call..from an employee at CCHS..She says, her husband has been wanting a pibble pup..I had talked to her before for some advice..when i saw I was going to be the one to actually do the rescue.. I wanted to make sure i had my rear end covered and had asked a couple times.. I get to CCHS, go in to find this employee, and she says lets go outside..I was there, to surrender Prince..and let myself get taken in loose control of the situation. I handed him over, before I welled up with my silly old mans emotions and blazed a trail..hoping, and really believing that he was going to be ok..that he was in the hands of someone that would do their best to do their best.... That was 6 weeks ago..upon receiving her new baby, she took him to Dr. Estridge, and they semi determined, he was may 5 or 6 weeks..at the most..so that information went to Pueblo..Pueblo never contacted Canon, Canon never contacted Pueblo..the investigator in Pueblo was on vacay for a week..no one was doing his caseload..it sat for at least a week, and then all could I get out of them was we will get back to you. So in my frustration, not having a real direction to follow..I called and checked up on Prince a couple times, and got good reports, ok reports I guess, nothing stellar, that he was catching frisbees or climbing trees, but doing ok..considering his deafness and that he was tiny, and maybe, maybe only 4 weeks old when separated from his momma. I did not do much else..got involved in a few rescues, a few wild goose chases..and then the said employee called to tell me she needed to get rid of the pup.. wha????????????????? wha?????????? You were supposed to be the furever home lady..Puppy is showing aggression towards her kids..no shit??????????? twin 2 yr olds? Must be a devil dog.. She told me she had been offered some help with training..not that she offered this pup to someone else at HS..but might i want him back? that was Wednesday..so Friday i called her to see what she had finally decided, and that she now, how to move in with parents to take care of them and that the pup could not go there..well bless my soul momma we gotta go there is gold in them thar hills..BULL fing shit excuse my french..where did you learn that line lady? Every deadbeat dog abandoner from sea to shining sea says the same damn things dont theyI convinced her to immediately to bring the puppy to me, via my wife at work as she had my truck and i am stranded up her on the mountain..She gets him home around 8 that night..wow..he is really skinny.. wow..he is tiny.. wow..he is beautiful..i love him..my whole heart is shaking hands with him..My wife fills me in on what little conversation she had with employee..I check out what she sends home with him, a half a bag of puppy food and a tube of Nutri-Cal, that she says the doc told her to give, the next time he seems lethargic..he only did it once..and she didnt ever have to give him any but just in case he is diabetic and needs the boost..so he barfs a little water a time, or two..but he is bright..alert..not to worry..but as the evening wears on, so does he, and he starts showing some signs of exhaustion.. His little ribs are prominent, his waist is caved in.. so i am holding him, and he is takin kibble after kibble ok..5 or 6 so i set him front of the bowl, and he crunches down for awhile..goes to the water, but turns his nose up..wont drink..so a few hours i watch and no, he isnt drinking..she told me he doesnt like water dish, and hold on now, she tells me he likes climbing unto the commode and drinking from the stool..I have no reason to lie to you. this is what she told me. I cant find a syringe or anything to deliver some licquid to him, so i spoon feed him, and he doesnt want it..i have to pry his teeth apart to get it into the back so he will swallow, and he doesnt like it..He later later pukes it all up, looks like slobber, not large amounts ..but concerning..so i get more water in him, and he pukes it up..but settles down, and goes to sleep, scratched around in the blankets bedding down, and stacked the zzzzzzzzzzzzs. Saturday morning, I come on the back porch and there is a 8 inch diamater bloody puddle on the floor..Nooooooooooooooo....no no..Parvo..no.maybe its something else..maybe its the nutri cal coloring.. he is sick.. he is weak..and as the day goes on, sicker and weaker he gets.. To add to this, Friday night, at the outset of one of his vomiting episodes, my wife rushed him to the back door, and as she opened the door, our 2 year old male Pibble spots the 32 point buck he sees everyday, right there in his yard and away he and the deer go..and we have not found him yet.. This is where it kinda gets blurry..somewhere between sat and Sunday night i am in contact with a few of some of the best friends our beloved bulls and we pibble lovers have..one of which was pulling out all the stops to try to get to Wetmore to stick an IV in this guy..I wont bother with Estridges emergency services again. I was able to find a syringe and the baby actually targeted on it like a nipple and drank and drank and drank..started to rally a little and then, had a seizure..I have a video of him afterwards, that shows he had nothing left..he could do nothing..his eyes were fixed in a blank stare and his breathing got shallow and rapid, and he was on fire..one of his angels told me to cool him down and it worked..he cooled down and revived him a little..but I really thought we were going to lose him..I prayed we didnt. I could go on and on, and I have..I am blowing this whistle with all I have yall. This morning, I made it into Fremonts about 8 and they got me right in..Dr. Korte saw some blood rectally, but he looked pretty good this morning, and I had gotten a couple 4 dollops of Nutri-Cal in him, and he really didnt think it was Parvo..but i wanted it ruled out. and it came back positive....so now we treat him..and hope he shakes it off. Been a long weekend..I am exhausted from looking for my problem child..and this little Prince has me workin overtime..its ok..I am so impressed with the response and the generosity of people that dont know us from Adam but are opening hearts and purses/murses.. :-) I own the philosphy that there is no coin sa dinki..coincidence is a small miracle, God remains anonymous in..or tries to.. I thank every one of you for words of encouragement, prayers, your time and your moneys..I promise I will do my best for my pups..
