Three days ago ElephantsWorld welcomed the arrival of two new elephants. This was also a wonderful reunion for our recently arrived elephant Gai-Na as they were from previously from the same camp. Meet To-Me and Nemochi. To-Me is the grandmother of Nemochi, this is a first for ElephantsWorld as all of our elephants are from different herds. We are all very excited and humbled to observe their bond. To-Me means long tail in Karen. She is 50 years old and a mother of six. She has been in different trekking camps all her life and at the previous one in Sai Yok for 6 years. Nemochi which means money in Karen, is 20 years of age and was born in captivity where she was working as a trekking elephant. Her mother (the daughter of To-Me) was sold and is currently working at Taweechai Elephant Camp in Kanchanaburi. We hope to one day reunite all three family members at ElephantsWorld.
