Sourced in: Brazil, USA, Skandinavia, Eastern Europe, Russia, South Africa. Rarity: readily available Formation: Member of the Quartz family, Crystal System: Trigonal Chemical Composition: (SiO2) olored by Aluminum-based and irradiation-induced color centers. The name Morion is used for black smoky quartz., Hardness: 7 Element: Earth Chakra: All Keywords: Centering, Grounding, Protection, Remove Negativity Smoky quartz is a very protective and grounding stone. It brings physical and psychic protection. It is also an excellent stone for protection from negative energy, as it removes negativity and negative energy of any kind and transforms them to positive energy. As a root chakra stone, smoky quartz enhances survival instincts, and can help one reach personal and business goals. It is also used in assisting in making wishes come true by grounding their essence in reality. Thus, it is a stone that brings abundance, prosperity, and good luck. Smoky quartz is beneficial mentally in several ways. It fosters cooperation in groups and supports their efforts energetically. It is one of those wonderful 1st Aid crystals that should be in everyones home and is particularly useful to those who are finding it hard to ward off other peoples energies (empaths), those who are struggling with grief and negativity, those who are flighty and ungrounded and Star Seeds, who are wrestling deeply with coping with the humanoid race and being on planet Earth ;) Smoky Quartz is the Shaman of the Crystal world. It is hugely protective, helps us discern truth from lie and see through smoke screens. It grounds, centres and realigns us deeply, without dulling us down or making us feel heavy and sludgy, as other grounding crystals may do. As a matter of fact, it creates a beautiful alignment with source and mother earth, and we will feel truly connected and very much present in the NOW. Smoky has the wonderful ability to clear our aura and emotional bodies of any unwanted, foreign energies, leaving us feeling ourselves again. Smoky defrazzles beautifully ~ Lying in a smoky quartz grid at the end of a long, tiring day is the best anti stress cure you can give yourself and is absolutely vital for those empaths who are finding it hard to keep other energies at bay. Star Seeds who are really struggling with being incarnate in the human body form will find it much more tolerable when carrying Smoky all the time, it will help you fully sink into your skin. ;) Smoky is a wonderful aid for any therapist. Use it during healing treatments to store any unwanted energies until you get a chance to transmute these after the client has gone. Literally pour the energies into the crystal, imagine them leaving your hands and being sucked into the crystal, or put your finger(s) onto the crystal and feel how the foreign energies get absorbed by the Smoky. Smoky is a wonderful aid to those grieving or trapped in negative thinking and depression. It helps us understand that sometimes we need to say good bye and let go, but life goes on. It helps us cope with the pain and aids in releasing the deepest hurt, letting us see beauty, even through the tears. It relieves us from hopelessness, gently reaffirming our divine right to joy, healing and love. It literally dissolves feelings of negativity, which can often be felt is quite a physical way of emotions being pulled out of our physicality. Other times, it is such a quiet, gentle healing, we dont really notice at all, until a couple of days later when we all of a sudden become aware and think hey, it is gone. I feel lighter! There are many wonderful forms and types of Smoky and the Elestials and Brandberg varieties are simply divine. They take us to a totally different level again, where we work on a much higher plane of consciousness. This is where the true shaman nature of Smoky comes to light and shines, brightly. Soul retrieval, soul release, deep shamanic healing, and soul midwifery are all beautifully aided through working with these varieties of Smoky Quartz, but I will write about all this beautiful work at a later date. Care of Smoky: Smoky loves to be out in both sun and moonshine, although treated smoky especially will fade in sunshine, so be careful. It loves being in or near water, there is a definite water energy present within the earthiness of Smoky. Smoky (understandably) loves a good smudging too and very much enjoys the sound of drum and rattle. Even though Smoky is said to transmute energies, I feel that smoky is one of the very heavy workers in our world and tends to act like a sponge in every way ~ and thus becomes heavy with energy quickly. A good regular cleanse will be greatly appreciated so it can work all the better for you. And definitely, always, always cleanse after any healing treatment.
