Toonz to be State’s First Training Centre THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Toonz Academy, the academic wing of Technopark-based Toonz Animation, is all set to become the first authorised training centre of visual effects software NUKE in the state. The academy has entered into an association with UK-based The Foundry, creators of the cutting-edge technology visual effects software called NUKE. Foundry will provide the curriculum, lesson plans, exercise files and also the certification. The faculty members are also trained by Foundry experts. This will help students in developing multi-disciplined skill sets that can be employed in an individual or global facility environment. The training centre will be officially launched on Thursday at Hotel Pankaj in Statue Junction. The Academy team, along with Nicki Morris, head of Education Vertical, Foundry will be present on the occasion. Morris will handle a session titled ‘VFX, A Close Look!’ on visual effects and animation. Live demos on visual effects for movies, case studies on recent projects and interactive session with experts on shaping a career in visual effects & animation will be the highlights of the session.
