WEATHER UPDATE 5/25/13 at 4:10 PM LCSO Emergency personnel have checked Buckhorn Canyon from approximately MM25 down, no significant issues reported. Rain there around 1/4 inch and lesser amounts reported in Stove Prairie. Emergency services personnel also reporting water running high and fast in Poudre Canyon along Highway 14, but no reports of flooding. Getting reports that water is close to road on County Road 5 just south of Harmony, this location is East of I-25. It appears for now that we avoided the NWS predicted moderate flooding and debris flows; however, if conditions change, we will update you here. **A great reminder from Sheriff Smith:** With the likelihood of continued rains the concern becomes the saturation of the soils in many areas of the county. Since the soils cannot absorb much more moisture, additional rain will mostly head for the drainages, creeks and rivers. We urge residents to be prepared for the possibility of continued flooding today. Anyone whos been in Colorado for more than two weeks understands that we are the land of weather extremes. Stay safe everyone!
