Walking my dogs in nearby Leeper park this morning and I came across a minivan with the hood up. There were two older men who seemed as though they might have some developmental challenges in life. I found out they had been stuck there for a couple days coming from California. They hadnt eaten and were broke until their gov check got auto deposited on the third. I went and got them some McDonalds, and when I returned I discovered they had 6 cats and a bunny in the van in little crates. Two of the cats were in one very tiny crate. I took one of the brothers with me and loaded all the animals in the car and took them to my house. We quickly put them all in larger crates that I had and they are now resting comfortably in my back yard. Each cat has more room now and theyve been fed and given water. Turns out their are THREE brothers all from California and they dont get any money until the third. So they are with their van now and triple A is coming to get the van started, then theyre coming to my house to sleep in my yard for a day or two and shower and then they can get on their way. Im worried about them taking the cats on the road in such small containers. But I cant do more than I can do so Ill just let the animals rest in larger cages for a few days and get the three brothers cleaned up and fed and help them clean their van out and reorganize everything so they can be on their way in a better fashion. God please help these three men and their pets. These guys and their animals need some assistance more than I can give them. I am worried about the animals traveling. I imagine when the three brothers run out of money the cats and the rabbit don;t eat until they get more money. And they dont seem to manage their money right. I did what I could do....
