We have received the very sad news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Mr Harley Mead, a former MBC Director of Music. Harley was Director of Music from January 2005 for a period of three and a half years during which time he developed a strong Music team and significantly enhanced the Colleges Music Performance Program, broadening its scope and vibrancy through drawing on his own impressive networks. Harley was also responsible for a considerable strengthening of the quality and take-up of Music courses at MBC and the management of the completion of the Music Centre. He will always be remembered at Moreton Bay College for his unending enthusiasm, his vibrant costumes and his love of music. The primary teachers fondly remember him ‘kidnapping’ their classes for a surprise music class and the secondary staff remembers seeing him throughout the College dressed as a ladybeetle, traffic lights or in his wide variety of other colourful costumes on his way back from teaching the younger girls. His dedication to the girls will never be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with Harleys children, family and friends. We would love to hear any of your Mr Mead stories.
