Well, what an afternoon and evening we had in Tile Hill - TopicsExpress

Well, what an afternoon and evening we had in Tile Hill yesterday! An incident involving armed police saw around 30 households evacuated at around 4:00pm, to a temporary rest centre at the library in Jardine Crescent. Local councillors Steven Thomas and Patricia Hetherton were quickly on the scene to help set up the rest centre and to provide information and reassurance to residents. On behalf of those who were affected, the councillors would like to thank all of the City Council staff who gave up their evenings to ensure residents were well looked after and able to return home by 10:30pm. Please remember that incidents like this are extremely rare, both in Tile Hill and in Coventry as a whole. Cllrs Thomas and Hetherton have requested an urgent meeting with the local police team to discuss how local residents can be reassured and how the police can tackle various crime and anti-social behaviour issues in Tile Hill. Cllr Thomas will be talking to Heart FM in the West Midlands and to BBC Coventry and Warwickshire during their breakfast shows on 5 June.
