Vera Nakonechny is one of nine artists were honoring this year for their work, mentorship, and advocacy in the folk and traditional arts. Nakonechny is an expert in crafting traditional Ukranian textiles using techniques such as embroidery, weaving, beadwork, and many more. This video about Nakonechny and her work is courtesy of the Pew Center for Arts and Heritage, where she held a fellowship in 2008.
