What is wrong with the great American Health Care System? Ill tell ya. Last February, during a snow storm, in the middle of the night, my daughter in college develops and strep throat condition.... very painful. The clinic was closed and she opted to go to the emergency to try to get some relief. They swab her throat, tell her she has a virus that has been going around and it will have to run its course. They give her a prescription for pain medicine with instructions to see her regular doctor when she can. Total bill ....$2132.25.!!!!.....for a throat swab and a prescription!!!They have already bilked my health care provider for $1104.92 toward the bill and want me to pay $1027.33 out of pocket. I have filed a formal dispute claiming the charges are egregious and unjustifiable. This should be illegal. I asked them how in the hell do they sleep at night? How do you justify this kind of charge? Do you charge $50 for every square tile that is stepped on between the front desk and the examination room???? Evil bastards.....why dont you just make it an even million!!!
