Whew, I dont feel the cat-love. Here are the facts: 1. Cat allergy is twice as common as dog allergy. 2. 40-60% of Americans have pets or pet contact. 3. 10-15% of Americans have allergies to animal dander. 4. 20-30% of asthmatics have allergy to animal dander. 5. Dogs outnumber cats as household pets. 6. People with cat allergies have more severe and persistent symptoms (perhaps due to more intimate exposure as cats cuddle and roam into bedrooms). 7. Mart Byford is right about one thing, extra math!, as some people have allergies to both or almost all animal dander they experience. 8. Horse allergy is a runner up.
