“Woof…” The dearly departed youth scoffed out laughably. He was the coven’s proverbial guard dog but not to long ago he seemed to be guarding them from one another rather than outside forces the way he was meant to. Wandering through the pristine halls with nothing short of boredom plaguing him. Did you just…woof at me? Zoe glanced over toward Kyle, a look of confusion and amusement crossing her face,What do you say we get out of this house for a little bit?, Zoe asked. I don’t think that’s a good idea. I mean… Look what happened last time. The words tumbled from the blonde’s lips rather unceremoniously and heavily. He had killed a man for reasons completely unknown, madness and crystalline violence having seeped into his psyche. Kyle had never been this monster before, destructive and unsavory. No, he had been the proverbial sweetheart who just wanted to help people and now he was like a feral dog on a leash a bit too long for society’s liking. Right. Last time, when Kyle had killed that man in Florida. “Well, yeah. But…I brought him back?” Zoe knew it didn’t make it better at all, and that Kyle still struggled with what he had become but that was all she had to offer him at the moment. There was no magical cure all for the anger issues he had. Not now, not ever. “You made one mistake, but that doesn’t mean you have to lock yourself up in these four walls for the rest of your life. You are no more of a monster than I am, Kyle.”
