World politics are so over my head. Mostly I stick to blissful ignorance. Ive got to say that Im thankful that there are folks fighting to keep my home safe, but this is a difficult rationalization to come to and to admit because I was raised by pacifists. Violence was never explained to me as a viable solution to problems. In the end, there are too many variables to grasp, and most of this big picture stuff is too out of my control for me to be invested in anyway. I have a formal request and goal for myself to not oversimplify things and to not buy into dogmatic over simplifications, never to stop thinking, and be willing to consider more than whats on the surface. If you/I cant do that then we are being the ultimate failure. Also, its really annoying when people have strong opinions after not seeing other perspectives It is ok to admit that you dont have everything figured out. Hats off to the (not so) blissfully ignorant, who are still figuring stuff out. Dogmatism is garbage.
