ok here I go with something thats kinda been bugging me for a time , its kinda hard for me to explain but here goes , whats your thoughts on powder horns and pouchs that look like there a couple hundred years old ? , I see horns that are very awesome looking, if I was a collector of antiquity and not looking to be period correct , they are aged to look yellow , gold what ever , im thinking this patina took a couple hundred years to happen , and that in that time period those horns would of looked new and white, freshly made , do you see what I mean ? they would not have looked yellow and old . ? and pouchs do you think they would have looked like they have been repaired countless times over many years ? im thinking the pouch maybe , cause people didnt have much money then ,. I made my horns in 1986 , and their starting to take on a nature patina , but not yellow or gold , . would it be period correct if all your outfit looked a couple hundred years old ? or do you think they would have liked to have new equipment ? people are buying it up and paying very good money , but is that what they would have had ? or is it a 20 th century view of what we perceive of what they have because we only have 200 year artifacts to compare it to ,, or it just looks cool ??
