test retest validity------test the validity of the claim that jap steel is not as strong as American steel, -------experiment---snap grade 8 hardened bolt off inside the rearend of an honest to goodness dana 60 rear in a 3/4 ton dodge truck, take part off and buy most expensive....ahem....titanium drill bits and break them and or dull them til they burn up, 8 of them, despite using 10 dollar a quart cutting oil, ---------hypothesis,---------the American made grade 8 bolt will cause the top of the line titanium drill bits to fail repeatedly therefore causing me to say nasty things to the bolt and to the drill bits,------------dependent variable------how aggravation will I go through before I break down and take the part to a machine shop and have it fixed the right way-------independent variable-------when will I get tired of messing with this pile of junk and just set the whole truck on fire?----------research conclusion---------after several, count them, 8.....snapped drill bits, the last one after abandoning the drill press because the belt was slipping I was pulling so hard on the dial,,,,while screaming at it, the last drill bit I broke, I was on the floor, with the part under my shoe, with my hand drill, which is a Milwaukee by the way, which really is American made and will twist the giggly fat off of miley cyrus cheeks in a heartbeat, anyway, as I am practically sitting on the drill to put down pressure on it the drill bit breaks and I go rolling across the floor of the garage, as I get up and dust myself off, by this time, really really saying not so nice words to anything and everything I have sitting in the garage, I finally, stop hyperventilating calmly take the part, and the new bolts and put them in the jeep to drop off at the machine shop tomorrow before I really do something with a large hammer that I will regret afterward
